The RCSA Darts Team has moved into second place in the South Kensington Academic Darts League thanks to a very brave fighting comeback against the Royal College of Music last night.
The two teams are the favourites to finish in 2nd and 3rd positions behind the Holland Club, so a lot was at stake in terms of having the advantage going into the second half of the season.
The match started with the Singles, the points for which were shared 3-3 before RCM won the Sixes and the first Doubles to go 5-3 up and needing one point from the remaining three games to win. However, the Doubles pairings of Austin Jones & Nick Shearman and Duncan Robertson & James Farrar won in convincing fashion to pull the match back to 5-5.
It was then left to the Captain's Three at the end - Duncan Robertson, Nick Shearman and Rob Park - to go for the win, which they did in a nerve-wracking finale. Eventually, Nick threw the winning dart and the RCSA therefore finally won the match in dramatic fashion.
