RCSA Win Tempered Match With IC United

The RCSA team won its third consecutive match of the new SKADL season last night but the game was not without its bad moments.

The IC United team seemed bent on making as much noise as possible, and the RCSA team had to put up with a multitude of distractions. One of the IC United players put their actions down to "strong team spirit", the same actions being described by one of the RCSA team as "sheer bloody-minded arrogance and lack of respect for the opposition".

The RCSA certainly seemed to be slightly affected by the opposition's attempts to distract them, but held together well to win the game by 6 points to 5. The game started with an RCSA decimation of IC United in the Sixes, which was won in just 61 darts by 0-348. After that, the Pairs went 2-1 in favour of the RCSA and then the honours were even in the Singles, with Captain Duncan Robertson winning the last of them to win the match. IC United then won the Three.

The match marks the end of the 2002 section of the 2002-3 season and puts the RCSA in top spot over the Christmas break, a position that the RCSA have never held. The competition is due to resume in January.
